Elvera Esther (Volker) Bohling entered the Church Triumphant on February 9, 2013. Pastor Bruce Berggren presided at the February 12th funeral at Martin Luther Church.
Elvera was an active farm wife, helping with all the daily functions of the farm. She enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening, raising chickens, sewing, quilting and embroidering. She was active in the church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil Bohling in 2006, and her son, Dennis, in 2010. We celebrate with her family as they remember her 89 years that she walked with God here on earth.
MLC church family extends their sympathies to her children: Carolyn (Bohling) Hastings and husband, Charles; Larry Bohling and wife Lois; Lorna (Bohling) Davison and husband, Dan; Ardith (Bohling) Labenz and husband, Jerry; LuAnn (Bohling) Carmine and husband, Larry; Mark Bohling and wife, Lois; as well as 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. The Larry Bohling and Mark Bohling families are MLC members.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
From now on there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness,
which the LORD, the righteous judge, will give me on that day,
and not only to me but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
From now on there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness,
which the LORD, the righteous judge, will give me on that day,
and not only to me but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
2 Timothy 4:7-8
