The Mission Committee has selected a theme for the year which "emphasizes youth, worship and pastoral care". The Mission Committee has chosen a different mission organization for each quarter - local, state, national, and global. This is to represent how our gifts may seem small and insignificant, but through the work and efforts of missions, our gifts can grow and touch many people's lives.
For the first quarter our mission offerings will go to the local organization, Nemaha County Ministerial Association's Back Pack Program. The Back Pack Program is being started to help feed children in our local communities. Schools provide breakfast and lunch for children during the week but on weekends many children in our own community have very little to eat. The Nemaha County Ministerial Association's Back Pack Program furnishes a back pack of food to help feed the children during the weekend.
This mission focus represents our Christian responsibility to reach beyond ourselves to help others here and around the world. Mission offerings were collected through the end of March and then given to the Back Pack Program.
