The men on the Sale Committee start taking consignments for the sale bill in January. By the time the sale bill is compiled and printed, we hear those familiar words "It's going to be a bigger sale than last year". The week before the sale proved to be very busy once again with consignors delivering their goods to the church grounds. By sale day, Saturday, March 5th, the line-up was impressive.
Two early morning views of items sold on the sale.
Up to three sale rings were utilized during the sale
which started at 10:00 a.m.
and concluded after 5:00 p.m.
An ample amount of hay to be sold.

Overall, the sale grounds were solid with just a few small areas of mud to contend with. The weather on the day of the sale started out in the low 20's with a brisk north wind. As the day progressed, the wind decreased and the temperature reached near 40 degrees.

Meanwhile, inside the garage the Martin Luther Church Women

Sharon Oestmann, Joan Bohling, Connie Oestmann & Phyllis Rippe
were a few of the many ladies who
served up a variety of items on the menu.
Todd Bohling was one of many MLC members who helped direct traffic during the day.
Elaine Speckmann headed up the crew of members that handled the buyers and payments.
There were approximately 750 bidders registered.
A buyer at the auction trailer being helped by Tammy Rowe,
one of the many MLC members who worked inside the auction trailer.
As the sale progresses and comes to a close, MLC members help buyers load equipment.
Part of the proceeds from the consignment sale are split between the
Auburn, Johnson, Humboldt & Tecumseh rescue squads
as well as other community good-will projects.
The Consignment Sale is a very large event that only succeeds
with the members of MLC volunteering their time and resources.
Again this year, it can be said of the event, "JOB WELL DONE"!
