Sunday School Children Donate Animals to Third-World Countries

Today marked the end to this Sunday School term.  The Parish Education Committee had several projects for the children during the Sunday School hour.

Kolt, Kade, Dylan and Ryan are working on a project during the Sunday School hour.

Allie and Brandi show their petunias that were potted.  The kids also made crafts to give their mothers along with the plants.

This was also the day that the children decided which animals they would buy with the money that was given for offerings for the last three Sundays.  The offerings were designated to go to Heifer International.  Heifer’s mission is to work with communities in third word countries to end hunger and poverty and to care for the earth.  This organization gives families a source of food rather than short-term relief.  Animals are given to needy families and those families in turn "pass on the gift" of their animals' offspring with others - along with the knowledge, resources, and skills that were originally provided to them by Heifer International.

The Sunday School children decided to donate a flock of chickens, a flock of ducks, a trio of rabbits, a hive of honey bees, and a water buffalo through Heifer International to needy families in third world countries.
