Patriotic Service

Martin Luther Church hosted a Patriotic Service Sunday, May 19th for area veterans.  Speaker Justine O'Neill-Hedlund of Lutheran Family Services shared how the "At Ease" Program provides confidential, individualized counseling services for active military personnel, veterans, and their loved ones.  Bill and Evonne Williams presented "Remembering our Fallen" a tribute to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the Iraq and Afghanistan military actions.   A noon meal was served for those attending.  The offering was designated for the "At Ease" Program.

Members of the Patriotic Committee, Ron Meyer, Ginny Baack and Mary Findeis are assisted by many of members of MLC for this event.

This year, the flag was folded in honor and memory of Alvin F.W. Bohling.  Alvin enlisted in the United States Army August 2, 1944.  He served his country as a rifle marksman and truck driver.
