On Sunday, September 9th, Martin Luther Church Family enjoyed some special time together. In observance of MLC's 110th anniversary we reminisced about our Centennial celebration on September 8, 2002 - a fast 10 years ago!
During the Sunday School hour, a special Sunday Funday included making crowns that featured "110", chalk drawings, and games of yesteryear that were enjoyed by the children.
After a church service of celebration and gratefulness for God's blessings on this congregation, a luncheon of sandwiches, chips, pie, cake and homemade ice cream were enjoyed by the church members.
A short trivia was given and a few of the members were recognized. Emma Nolte at 93 is our eldest female member; Arnold Ottemann at 90 is our eldest male member; Beckett Eggers at four months old is our youngest member; Arnold and Laura Ottemann have been married the longest at 68 years; Dan and Ashlee Davis are the most newly married couple at just over 2 months; our organists, Joan Bohling and Phyllis Davis were recognized for having played for 56 years and 46 years, respectively.
After the luncheon, the Youth Group auctioned themselves off for three hours of work to the highest bidder and also auctioned pies, cakes and ice cream as a money raiser.
In gratefulness for 110 years of MLC, a congregational mission goal was set for $5,000 to buy "an ark" through Heifer International. (A "ark" is a variety of animals that will be given to needy families around the world. The animals provide food or income for the family and the family can use the offspring to help other families in the villages).

Part of our celebration included reminiscing of our 100th Celebration which was held September 8, 2002. Those ten years have flown by and it was fun to take a look back as we remembered 110 years of God's blessings as of 2012
