A Mission Trip to Mississippi

Recently, MLC member, Pete Eggers, traveled with forty-three other Nebraska Lutherans to Camp Victor in Ocean Springs, Mississippi to help build and rebuild homes for families whose homes were lost or severely damaged during Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The Nebraska Synod Group split up into five crews working on homes in three different towns. Pete's crew completed the interior work on a new house that was build on stilts. The home that Pete helped worked on is pictured above from the exterior.

Pete is shown here working with others in the group on the interior of the home.

There are many opportunities to get involved and make a difference in this area of missions. We can pray for those individuals that live in the Gulf Coast area as well as those who travel from afar to help rebuild. Other ways to help are Camp Victor's Stock Certificate Program or the Adopt-a-Family Program.
