Recently, we received a message from Matt Dieckhoff who had been stationed in Iraq and was lately relocated to Afgahanistan. We received the following message from Matt:
“I am at a base called Kandahar. It’s like a city here, people drive crazy all over and there is a bunch of other countries here. I have seen like 7 or 8 different ones in the last few days. The base has mountains all around it so it kinda looks nice and it seems to be warmer here than it was in Ali which is weird because we are farther north here. I think I will be staying here for the rest of the time. Nothing here is nice like Iraq; we sleep in tents; no internet; no phones; for morale they have them, but since there is so many people you have to wait for like 3 hours to get on it.”
We'll be thinking about Matt in his new assignment. His address will continue to be posted in the weekly bulletins.
